Editorial: Johnson in District 37, Bonoff in District 44

Minnesota needs a 2013 Legislature less prone to partisan gridlock. That was a priority in choosing which candidates to endorse in legislative contests.

The StarTribune endorsement board will help more voters learn about the merits of Senator Terri Bonoff. I hope she wins but she is not running in Eden Prairie. Your writer meant to identify Plymouth and Woodland not Eden Prairie as the northern portion of Ms. Bonoff's Senate District.

Senator Bonoff is an exceptional State Senator as demonstrated by the ideological diversity of her endorsements. From the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce to Cleanwater Action and Planned Parenthood, Terri is respected on both sides of the political spectrum for her ability to put aside partisanship and get the work of the people done.

When I spoke with Alice Johnson at my front door I knew immediately that she has a true passion and devotion to fight for the people of our district. Her knowledge about improving our educational system and the desire to help small businesses grow were the keys to our family wants and needs. Alice has our vote for MN Senate!

When the DFL controlled the house and senate did the strib ever endorse a GOP candidate to promote bipartisanship? The DFL is as partisan, if not more partisan, than the GOP.
