I have an autistic daughter, and I have never used her as an excuse for anything. Minnesota is one of the best states in the country for the care and treatment of autism. For Chip to suggest anything else is a dishonest at best. He should be ashamed of himself. Next, he'll blame the family move on his dog. Go be with your family and allow Minnesotans to be represented by true Minnesotans.
I have a child with autism and I have never ever used his disability for my own benefit. Most parents in fact give up a lot for their kids. This is unforgivable and worse, Cravaack is still playing politics. Instead of answering why he didn't join the Autism Caucus or support insurance legislation, he diverted attention to the Nolan campaign. Why can't he just take responsibility for his actions like everyone else?
While I am not a Cravaack supporter, I'll give him a break on this one. He only cited his son's autism as part of the reason his children moved to NH to be nearer their mother's workplace, in response to attacks by his opponent on that decision. It was fair to disclose the factors that contributed to his family's decision.
