Yeah Yeah....whatever. This is more about publicity for these NHLers than charity. These same players have shown their level of greed over & over. Why should the public now all of a sudden believe they have good intentions? Because they played 1 charity game. Wowser.

All 3 NHLers quoted in this story hinted that this lockout will wipe out this entire season and continue into next season. That is not a good sign for people who like to watch hockey.

aztheo: "These same players have shown their level of greed over & over." --------------- Could you provide some examples for us to back up your accusations? Also, it's fair to assume that you deny your boss's salary raises or end of year bonus each year, and also decline the maximum wage you can earn for your position and experience level, and instead you only accept nothing more than minimum wage, or donate the difference to charity. If you don't, you are greedy (your terms) and a hypocrite.

TO Mr. Parise: Now you are starting to get the picture. Don't be so confident that fans will return. The league probalby thinks they will. I don't see it this time. There are way too many other things to do with your entertainment dollar that will take the place of VERY EXPENSIVE pro hockey. Especially in a sub par economy.

commonsense4u: Nobody has any sympathy for a professional athlete griping over their pay. I don't care whether it's the league minimum or $10 million. The fact is, these yahoos get paid a LOT of money either way to play a GAME! A GAME!! I understnad that it's all relative but this is ridiculous and nobody has time for it. Also, there's plenty of hockey to watch if you are real fan of the game. Why does it have to be these snot nosed overpaid pros? Turn on the Gophers, go check out a high school game.

I don't wish to play the Grinch here, but with all the multimillion dollar athletes that showed up to play in this CHARITY event, that, by the way ,is also a GREAT cause... I hope that the quote of $50.000.00 being raised is a typo. I do hope that the multimillion dollar athletes did more than just show up but also stepped up, dug into their very deep pockets and made a generous financial contribution as well.
