Funny, Suter and Parise make sure they get paid this season. How about the 3rd and 4th line players that can't go overseas and play? What have you done for them? This is about the have and have nots. This isn't a union. Its every man for himself. If it was a union they would all stay here and get it done. Instead some go overseas and play to get paid. I guarantee you wouldn't see this happening at the steel mill where the union actually means something.

I understand why Suter said that Uncle Leo knew what the owners were going to do, yeah he knew, obviously. Did Cliff know ? I doubt it....Uncle Leo is desperate so none of us should be surprised, Fletch has not produced any magic, the only way this team gets anywhere is if Uncle Leo does what he did..... Lets face it, this is not the first time Uncle Leo has had to get down and dirty in his business life, he has allot of money

Hockey players with guaranteed $100 million dollar contracts should shut their mouths, play hard and give lots back. They are not paid for their opinions, right or wrong. We just want to see them play the game well and pretend they like Minnesota. If their agents were earning their fees, these guys would know to stay in the background and be thankful for the $10 million they received without so much as lacing up the skates or taping a stick. And Russo could let them be alone and focus on the team labor rep, rather than lathering up a situation with a guy that does not mean any disrespect to the man who gave him the contract.

I do understand the public only get snippets of conversations. Suter may have intimated a general answer to a question and likely it got spun to create interest. Gotta' be honest though- people living in the real world and who've looked for a job in a tough economy over the past 2.5-3 years really aren't interested in opinions of people getting paid in one year - not working- an amount of money that many people will never earn in 4 life times of work. The guy just plays hockey- he's not a nuclear physicist!

@klayton6 of course it's not a union like say the MLB but that's why they hired Fehr...to start to be like that union...guess they still have a ways to go....

klayton6 is right on target. The theory behind the negotiation is all for one and one for all but in reality, it is guys like Suter and Parise and the other NHL stars doing what's best for them and letting the non-stars take the hit.

The teams could play and continue to bargain. Just like any other business? The workers at the sugar mill are doing it right. Well, at least the replacement workers are getting paid.

Suter just needs to shut his mouth and make darn sure he's ready to play like a 100 million dollar player when and if the puck every drops.

I do not agree with very much Mr. Suter has to say, but I do believe he has as much right to speak his mind when asked a question as anyone else does. I do wish people getting paid that kind of money would learn to appreciate it a little. Just my humble opinion.

Both Suter & Parise have now publicly displayed their greed. How much is enough fellas? You play a kid's game for a living. You make more $ in 1 contract than the average college grad does in 333 years of work. Shut the heck up already.
