Canisius? for real, boy i'm not getting sour yet but we got a long way to go, not playing well so far.

I have not seen the Gophers play this year, but last year it seemed they played helter-skelter type hockey. What I mean by that is that they hardly ever had any coordinated efforts of multiple passing to score a goal, except sometimes on their power play. Also, last year they lost a lot of Friday games and then won the next night. I don't know why that was.

Lucky the gophs aren't in the AHA! Canisius is picked to finish 9th of 12 teams in the AHA. The gophs made the Griffs look like contenders!

Ok, everybody calm down. It's October. Let's wait until after the new year to see who's for real. Teams are sorting themselves out. North Dakota had to score late to tie Alaska at home. Minne ties the 18 and under team. The cream will rise to the top by March. Until then, keep Kristo out of the snow banks.

A VERY poor performance by a team that appeared to take on the personality of its coach...it really didn't seem to care much. Lucia gets the top recruits, but his ability to coach and improve the players is in question. Last year they started on out fire and appeared to hit a wall and play mediocre the last part of the season. Not sure what it is, but this team already played its best hockey the first series of the year. Denver had absolutely NO TROUBLE sweeping Michigan Tech. Time for someone to light a Fire under Lucia and get him to actually coach the team. Can no longer use the excuse that he is sick.

Remington22 and dirtydogs: lastt I checked Lucia had 2 NCAA titles, which, I will guess is 2 more than you have(together). When you win your first, feel free to offer advice or criticize! Nice job, Gophers!

double 'd', are you serious?? Poor performance?? The ONLY reason this game wasnt a 8, 9 or 10-0 rout was because of the kid between the pipes, Capobianco. If college had the 3 stars rating system, he would have been the number one star of the game. and regarding your comments about last season, a hot start and a mediocre finish? in jan after winning game 2 to get a split with no/dak/canada, the team went 13-5. Huh??? are you sure you really follow the team?

marcus100254Oct. 28, 12 8:47 PM

rem double 2, the gophs made canisius look like contenders?? Sorry bud, Capobianco made the griffs lok like contenders. Without him this game would have been a rout....

Did the hockey team buy off some D1 opponent to get this team on the schedule?

remington22Oct. 29, 12 9:02 AM

The number 2 team in the nation doesn't have that much trouble with one of the worst teams in the nation because of one player. It wasn't just the goalie, who is now 1-5-1, who also gave up 5 goals to Ottawa! Sure he made 41 saves, a few of which were highlight saves, and deserved the 2nd star of the game, but it was the notable defensive effort of the Griffs that stopped the gophs from executing their game plan. The griffs certainly can't score (3 shutouts in six games; two other games they scored one goal). Probably hats off to the griffs coach for a solid defensive game plan to hold down the superior gophs to one goal. gophs need to learn how to not play down to an opponents level!
