Shortcut, parkland or connector to interstate?
I will preface this by saying I'm an "evil" suburbanite. One who uses the road weekly, and has in all it's variations for decades. I use it primarily to get to places in St Paul (where I spend my suburban money to patronize St Paul businesses). I do use it returning home from Minneapolis (as there is no connection to S/B 35 from 94. My car is in your neighborhoods so I guess I'm sorry....? I would suggest you do one of two things. Connect the north end to 94 and reduce the neigborhood access points (this would be my preference), it's not like it would be dramatically different then it is now. There would just be less cars on the neighborhood streets. Or close it entirely (which is fine also becasue I do not HAVE to shop is St Paul, I can leave my suburban money in say... the suburbs?). Then Mr. Maddon can make a bike path or a trail, or whatever to help further his completely deluded idea that we all want to become a walking biking mass transit society....really? Keep up the utopian ideas St Paul, and watch your taxes keep rising!
Ayd Mill Road is a railroad overlay project from the hippie era which should probably be torn down and developed into something like the Midtown Greenway in Minneapolis.
Please mind the YIELD signs when entering this thoroughfare. I can't tell you how many times I've nearly been rear-ended by impatient suburbanites who erroneously think it's some kind of highway.
