A lot of Minnesotan's aren't against civil unions for homosexuals with rights similiar to what husbands and wives have, but they draw the line when they want to redifine marriage. That's where I stand anyway. I'm voting YES, for the children.

I think all this pressure and name calling by the left to try to get people to submit to the notion of homosexual marriage has been a big turnoff for voters and will backfire. Even Paul Wellstone voted to preserve traditional marriage and he was no bigot, so please, stop with the nasty attacks.

Vote "no" on the marriage amendment because we don't need a bigger government invading the bedrooms of others. But, you should also give Mitt a chance and vote "no" on Obama!! Come on Minnesotans, give Mitt a chance!!

Minnesota doesn't need this hurtful amendment that lets the government for forever and ever tell some of our fellow citizens who they are allowed to fall in love with and marry. Vote NO to keep the constitution out of the hearts and bedrooms of Minnesotans. If we put this in our constitution, you can bet that in just a few years we will have to live through another expensive, ugly campaign for repeal.

Here's something to think about too with regards to this amendment; should it be voted down, same-sex marriage will still be illegal in Minnesota. State statutes 517.01-517.03 will still prohibit the citizens of Minnesota from marrying someone of the same gender. Should the amendment be voted down on Election Day it will no doubt spur an energized effort to repeal those statutes but the fact remains that even in the event of the marriage amendment being voted down, same-sex marriage will still be against the law in Minnesota. It also leads to a truly ironic end result if the amendment passes. Essentially, the state constitution will be amended to prohibit the citizens of Minnesota from doing something that is against the law. Hmmm.

Since these polls don't call cell phones, and most young voters only have a cell phone, the results miss the most important demographic. I have six grandchildren of voting age. None of them has a land line and all of them are voting NO on this discriminatory amendment. I bet the YES votes don't his 45%.

Vote NO on both of these terrible amendments. This is not what the constitution is for. NO on BOTH.

I guess I don't understand why people would want the government telling people who they can and can't marry. Whether or not you believe in gay marriage or not it just doesn't make sense to me why you would want the government involved in your marriage.

Instead, it has evolved in concept and ritual over the centuries. I found it very thought-provoking as it removes one of the key precepts that the backers of this amendment cling to. For those who are undecided and open-minded on the topic, this could be useful information as you consider how you will vote on this ballot question next week.

Vote no for REAL people and REAL families.
