I'm thinking issues one through nine are the economy, and the tenth would be the Libya situation in which the Obama administration lied about.
The statistical tie is in the popular vote, but the only thing which counts is the electoral vote. At this point, Obama's leading in 8 out of 10 swing states - all he has to do is pick off Ohio and one other state like Wisconsin and it's over the required 270. Every electoral may site has had him well over the 270 consistently as well. Unfortunately, Ohio has 1.4 million absentee ballots out. Over 800,000 may vote provisionally. If this happens and these ballots haven't been counted by Nov 6, it appears that it could take until Nov 17 to have the final tally. Nov 6 promises to be a very, very long night at this point (and this is IF the vote isn't so close in a few other states that it's contested by one side or the other!)
The only important factor is voter turnout. Turnout greater than 60% = Obama win. Problem is: There hasn't been a 60% turnout for a Presidential election since 1968, so non-voters will get what they deserve. And, as usual, about 25% of the voting public will elect the next President, and declare a mandate. This is a democracy?
Romney is not giving any press interviews, or answering questions, or going on any talk shows for the specific reason of not pulling a "major Gaffe" before the election. By only going around stumping with the same lines, and not having to be accountable for the things said, and not allow the press to question you- keeps him (& his aides) safe. Hopefully people are smart enough to see thru this come election day....
You would feel better if Romney was on MTV, Letterman, the View, and Leno?
Romney is out talking with potential voters which seems personal and unscripted.
I'm sure team Obama had nothing to do with the lines of questioning from those venues....right?
Obama has made himself available to answer questions to a very wide variety of people in addition to a variety of media sources. Romney, on the other hand, is trying to stay safe by repeating the same tired talking points and lies every day, and by avoiding any specific questions or interviews. So far, he's ducked practically everything the public needs and deserves to know. Like: his mass holdings overseas; his Bain involvement; his last 10 years worth of tax returns; his Olympic records (had them shredded); his religion; how he accrued a 100-million dollar IRA when the rest of us are limited to a max of 30K/year; how his magical numbers on his tax plan will work and what specifically would he cut (every economist agrees they will NOT work at all); his failures as governor; etc. As the months have passed, we know less and less about this man and have more & more questions. What would we be sending to the WH??? A blank check? A severe conservative?? A hologram?? The moderate Mitt?? A puppet to the right wing or billionaire plutocrats?? Everything about this man is nothing but a crap shoot, a very high risk one at that!
