The Gophers offense could put you asleep; run through the line, pass, run through the line, pass. Doesn't the offensive coordinator know anything else?

Todays game will be a rout for Purdue. Can we buy them off the schedule for a few years?

Nelson is a good player but it's a little disturbing that a Big 10 team is running the same offense as Mankato West.

Thank you for having a more technical article!! I hope others appreciate it. It makes viewing what they are doing a little easier to understand. I wish we had more of these. I suppose, ultimately, whether you run more of these will be determined by hits on the page, but I for one appreciate it. Refreshing from the normal type of story.

Prediction: Nelson is going to be a star player, maybe the best QB ever for the Gophers. He will be the kind of guy that can turn programs around. He will have some bumps the rest of this season but that is mainly due to the injuries and youth we have dealt with on offense. I thought we could be pretty good next year but I'm even more optimistic with Nelson at the most important position in sports.

I'm just happy Gray and Shortell are not QBing (they had their chance). Let's see what the kid can do the rest of the way.

I agree with the poster who appreciates the technical explanation in this article for this offense. We should be able to mix in Grey as a receiver or change of pace QB. Shortell is a very good passer, but the talent on this offense doesn't support a pure passing offense. Hope he doesn't transfer, but I guess I wouldn't blame him. The Nelson era should bring some hope and excitement to this program!

@jaynedrake - there are not many other plays available besides running and passing. You think we should punt it on every play, maybe?
