How about they quit posturing and actually negotiate in good faith. Get rid of Bettman and Fehr and I think it would go a lot faster.

Fehr is the problem. Players will lose more $ losing the games than if they would negotiate based on the basis of the recent NHL offer.

It they cut about 25% of the teams from the playoffs that would be better. It's not that the season is too long, but the playoffs/Stanley Cup has no business wrapping up in the middle of June. That's a joke.

Players should start a new American Hockey League and kiss the NHL goodbye. The players can become the new owners and negotiate new contracts with the existing arenas across the country.

Here is the thing. I get why both the musicians and the boards of directors of our two primary orchestras are at loggerheads. For these skilled performers and their orchestras money is really tight and getting worse. But Hockey, or really any professional sport, have labor issues strikes me as crazy. Even inhockey, the least profitable of the major sports, there is lots and lots of money and the only issue is how is it divided. Get serious. I could happily survive a season , or a lifetime, without pro hockey, or any other pro sport, . . . except maybe baseball, Go Twins!

That's probably about it for me. I love watching hockey, but the NHL isn't the only game in town and this lockout garbage is getting old. Between the Gophers and the high school game, there's plenty of alternatives.

I agree with throwsnow! I grew up in No Minn while playing hockey against Warroad, Roseau, etc. I and 3 sons have lived and breathed North Stars and Wild hockey. The latest NHL mess will allow for us to break that habit!! Settle soon or count us out!!!

Bettman has too go, every time since he has become commissioner when the Cba ends there is a lockout. He's never once ushered in an era of labor piece.

The players need to fire Fehr immediately before they lose a whole season of salary that they will never get back. I'm not a big Bettman fan either, but when the players hired Fehr they pretty much guaranteed a lockout.
