Old white men should NOT be making decisions about women's health! It should be left up to a woman and her doctor. Would a man like Nancy Pelosi involved in his decision on whether or not to take Viagra or get a vasectomy? I think not. We need to get government OUT of our doctor's offices and bedrooms.

What do you mean "each man has pitfalls" in reference to womens issues? That is a misleading headline if ever I saw one. I don't recall ANY reference in this article to any "pitfall" that Obama represents regarding women's issues. Seems to me whoever wrote that headline didn't bother to read the article.

Economies go up and down but once Roe v Wade if overturned and abortion is outlawed, then women will be at the mercy of whatever state they live in to determine if they or the government controls their body.

Trying to be "balanced" and the worst you can say about Obama is that Obamacare isn't fully in effect, yet? So, maybe this isn't actually balanced at all. Maybe Obama actually did something positive for women and their families but it just hasn't fully taken effect yet. Maybe Romney does actually have a plan to roll back reproductive rights. Maybe Romney doesn't actually know why equal pay for equal work is important to women and their families. Maybe the Romney/Ryan budget does actually slash government services that help women and their families. Maybe Romney actually is against women getting birth control covered under insurance. Maybe Romney doesn't actually understand why having to ask a feminist group to give him some qualified women to work for him really does mean that he is out of touch with working women. Maybe, just maybe, this article can't be balanced because there is no balance here. One candidate is clearly on the side of women and understands women's issues in all their complexity and gets the radical notion that women are people. And one candidate is clearly clueless about issues that affect women and why they might affect women. But one candidate has binders. Binders full of women. hmmmmmmmmmm

My question is-When is an election just about women? When is it just about men? I always thought elections were about men and women both-why this constant never ending need to separate voters? Separating us doesn't make us a stronger nation. Some writers made a big deal about Candy Crowley being the first woman moderator at the debates. I honestly didn't even notice. Why? It was not important. What was important was whether she did a good job.

"This is about politicians taking away the control women should have over their own bodies" - - - ODD, I thought it was about who was required to pay. Fact: it isn't the insurance company, they can only collect.

The American Taliban have taken over the Republican party and women both here and there must worry...yeah, sure, I know they call themselves "Christians", but they are the best disguise for evil...appear as "Christian"...it's already been written...

AP reported today that Romney has erased Obama's lead with women. It's about the economy stupid, not the birth control pills.

From the Article: "The current Congress has managed to get very little done, but Republicans have held more than one vote each week trying to curtail reproductive rights."

MORE THAN ONE VOTE EACH WEEK!!! Republicans are determined to do everything they possibly can, including overturning Roe v Wade, to make abortion impossible to get in at least half the states. They also will pass a bill, if they have majorities in both Houses of Congress that will bann abortion on the FEDERAL level. And do you think, if Romney is president, that he WON'T sign such a bill making abortion a federal crime?? Of course, he would, in a heartbeat.

This country is in great danger of being taken over by, as other's have rightly called it, the American Taliban. That old Sinclair Lewis quote keeps going though my mind. "When fascism comes to America, it will come wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross".

The reason women are turning away from Obama is that they understand, far better than this writer, that Romney and other Republicans are NOT trying to control them. Republicans are fighting against the controls and mandates of Obamacare, fighting to allow everyone to choose the care they want, rather than what government decides. As davehoug noted, most of the Republican opposition has come about because Democrats insist that other people should pay for their choices. Republicans properly argue that one person's rights should not require payment or labor from someone else. More women are simply seeing beyond the rhetoric of the Democratic party.
