What I remember very well is that Norm Coleman won that election. Probably only because those that "loved" Wellstone wrote in his name when voting rather than vote for who was running in his place (Mondale). I know that because I was Election Judge at the time. When you vote, VOTE intelligently or the opposition wins.

I never agreed with his politics. His death does not resonate with me as it does with others.

I met Paul and Sheila at the State Fair a few years back and really liked them. One thing I've always admired about Paul was his vote to preserve traditional marriage. Rest in Peace Paul and Sheila.

This article deserves the names of the pilots and the campaign staffers. Their lives were no less important.

I worked at the Middle School of his daughter of the time of the crash. My heart goes out to her to this day. I'll leave it at that.

I agreed with many of Wellstone's views, but not all. I especially remember his vote on the Iraq war; what fortitude it took to stand alone at that moment. He embodied what we need most in politicians: courage, compassion, wisdom, and the ability to play well with those holding differing views. Yet, on this day, my heart aches most for his sons. What a toll politics took on their lives when both parents and their sister were killed.

One Thing Wellstone was helping was to get healthcare to cover mental health issues on a equal basis. To this day, Mental health is not covered like any other disease. People discriminate against those who have depression, Bi-Polar or other brain diseases. This is a shame.. Instead of putting people in jail for mental illiness.. we should have more mental health facilities

Jkunze made a very nice remark about Paul/Sheila and their daughter and someone gave the nice remark a thumbs down.. What a jerk to do that. Just because you dont like his views on politics doesnt make his death any less sad

chickfila: What "vote" did he vote on, for traditional marriage? I'm calling your bluff on this one. My respect, my intentional actions and beliefs align with Wellstone's and I'm proud to act as Wellstone did: deliberately, purposefully, meaningfully. That's rare these days.
