Recovery time is short for players when NFL teams play on Thursday night. Even worse for the road team: They usually lose.

I understand the toll NFL players bodies take on a weekly basis. I really do. To ask them to make a short turn around once, and hopefully only once, is not that much I don't believe. I think its good for the game. I wonder what teams would say if they had to travel half way around the world once a season, say to LONDON or something like that.

I think short week is better for Vikings since they are playing at home, and then they have 10 days rest Playing at Seattle, a good team on the road.

Really Craig? You're telling me world class athletes, with access to the best doctors and massage therapists and nutritionists, etc. in the world have to play a game a few days earlier than usual, ONCE, and I'm supposed to feel bad for them? Excuse me while I go find my tiny violin...

Sullivan has the best mental approach to the short recovery time. He looks at the bright side: 10 day until the next game.

The NFL could easily give the two teams that play on Thursday their bye week the Sunday before.

OH please ,these guy actual "work" time is what, maybe 30 minutes a week, the rest of the time they are standing on the sidelines or standing on the field, come on, they spend more time dressing and showering than working. Try roofing five or six days a week for 7 plus hours a day, or working at a fast food, or a "mart" or police work, or housewife chasing kids all of the place etc......lets not build these guys up to be something they are not.

Honestly! With continued weak jobs reports, a tough economy and shaky financial markets? I can't feel too sorry for the millionare athlete "workers." On a physical basis, stevedores, construction workers, repetitive motion workers ... I'd be more concerned for them when they are over worked during a regular work day and then work overtime ... The millionare athletes can simply drop in for a sauna, whirlpool, rubdown ... and then check into their private clubs for some quiche and a sip of champagne.

I know the knee-jerk reaction is to rip the millionaire athletes. But, look closer at the situation. Sometimes, another group of millionaires is the actual culprit. Player safety in the NFL is a serious concern, especially with the more that is learned about head trauma. The NFL claims that player safety is a primary concern... yet forces these Thursday night games in a money grab. As for the games themselves... check out the list that's provided in the article. The quality of play suffers. And, as an NFL fan who only gets to see 16 games per season, or a ticket holder who paid a lot of money to see it live... why would anybody want to see an inferior product? It's a disservice to the fans and to the players. But, the NFL makes even more money with its hypocritical actions.

The real benefit of this is that following tonight's game, the Vikes only have two games in thirty days. This is a well timed pause to get heeled, refreshed and prepared for what is clearly the toughest six-game stretch of the season.

If Ponder does not play better than he has the past few games, the Vikings will lose. I am really hoping Ponder's poor performances is not a trend. There is nothing better to fix that than a game at home during a short turn around against an opponent that has only won 2 games. This should be a lock victory as most homes teams win Thursday night games, but if Ponder plays poorly, we could easily be upset.
