I resent having my tax money pay for this nonsense and would like the state of Minnesota to rescind it's renewable energy standard!!! We have project participants threatening to hit the developer with a brick at Prairie Rose. We have Gamesa asking if they can site turbines on top of sink holes near Forestville State Park in their "EcoHarmony" project. There are on-going issues with the New Era wind development, previously known as AWA Goodhue (as if changing the name makes this dog somehow better).....all for an energy source that is intermittent so it destabilizes the energy grid, expensive but mandated so our small electrical coops lose millions, and maintenance issues so severe and expensive that we end up paying for the million dollar turbine all over again because the gear boxes burn up in three years or less!!! USFWS out of Oregon says we should expect a 47% loss of raptors where wind energy is installed. Dr. Jerry Punch of MSU and Dr. Alec Salt of Wash-U have done research that shows cochlear swelling from the low-frequency noise associated with industrial wind turbines, and necessary species like bats hemorrhage to death but the industry ignores this and gets an ITP to continue the slaughter. If the wind isn't blowing or blowing very strong the turbines are kept operational with natural gas, which is predatory, and research out of Denmark, Spain and Germany shows that these things do nothing to reduce CO2 emissions. The only purpose I can see for installing these things is to shift money from the already burdened middle class to the pockets of Wall Street, foreign corporations, and a handful of other people who do not mind preying on others to pad their pocketbooks. UGH!!

Is the $22 million in my tax money through the PTC? Or do they still qualify for the tax payers money as an up-front 1603 cash grant? Call your Senators and Congressman and tell them - no more Production Tax Credit (PTC) No more blowing our money for Solyndra and it's very tax payer enriched cousin - sWINDle. Amy Klobuchar is a huge supporter of continuing to pump our money into wind and solar even though she is well aware that it is a failure, drives Minnesotans from their homes, and kills birds. All this public money and drama for wind turbines that can't perform the basic normally required functions of an electrical generator - reliable, dispatchable, cost effective, safely produced electricity. When do we start talking about the dead Bald Eagles sacrificed on the alter of this self-righteous faux green movement? A very inconvenient truth.
