5-2. It could be worse. But it's not. It's 5-2. No matter what anyone says this is a building year in which they hope to continue to improve and compete. Ponder regressed today. Big deal. This is stll a work in progress.

I am always amazed at just how little intellect most fans have. Ponder is doing a great job. Sure he will make a mistake here and there as he learns and grows into the outstanding NFL quarterback he can and will be. How many times have we seen Manning or Brady toss interceptions and manke mistakes and yet everyone just understands it is part of playing in the NFL. Ponder is the real deal. The team is 5-2. My prediction was a 6-3 start and hang on from there. The Vikings are growing into a very good football team. Just enjoy the ride boys.

Enjoy the ride while it lasts. Even a complete collapse to an 8-8 finish would be far better than what we've seen the past two seasons. They might prove to be a relevent team this year if they can win the next three before the final (and brutal) 6 weeks on the schedule.

Current record is strictly due to the Way the NFL rewards the weaker teams. The real Vikes will show up the second half of the season. Vike fans are happy with mediocrity so .500 looks great. The Wash blunder in 2011 that cost the Vikes RG3 ranks right up there with the Herschell Walker trade.RG3 would have given the Vikes a real shot at a championship.Ponder guarantees more mediocrity.Sorry, but that's the way it is so get used to it. Ponder couldn't carry RG3's jock!

Here's my comment: The Redskins would have offered three first rounders to the Vikings for the rights to draft RG3 and the Vikings would have taken the offer, because they just drafted Ponder. There, I said it. --kennyrogers

AR DOWN CHICAGO BEARS!!! The Bears have a legitimate Super Bowl caliber defense and the purple can simply not match up with all the playmakers on this club!!! The Bears have sole possesion of first place and given that the vikings have played 4 of the league's worst teams through seven games thus far everyone knows they will have to "pay the piper" down the stretch and will not be able to beat any of the good teams they are going to face after this Thursday. Look no further than the Redskins game, they got blown out on the road by a mediocre club with a rookie QB. You can bank on the purple losing to Seattle, Houston, Chicago twice, the Packers twice and the Rams. Looks like the only victory left for the purple after this Thursday will be the Lions in the HumptyDome.

The Bears have played one team whose record is over .500. And they lost that game. The Vikings have also feasted on the dregs of the league, but at least they have a quality win.
