The last time we had a tackle that had to work to keep weight on it was Todd Steussie. He turned out pretty well.

Hmmm, never really had a problem gaining weight. Might I suggest doing as I do; find the most comfortable chair in the room facing the big screen. Hands in a constant motion shoving pizza, chips and chicken wings down my throat in succession for hours on end; with the TV Remote gently balanced on my chest---it's a beautiful thing.....

I recently read this about Sumo wrestlers and how they gain so much weight- just throwing it out there... what does a Sumo Wrestler do? They skip breakfast By depriving their bodies of food after eight hours of sleep, their metabolic rates stay low. They workout fasted If their bodies have no food, their metabolic thermostats are turned down even lower to conserve fuel. They eat a TON of calories 5,000 to 20,000/day They eat 1-2 large meals during the day Sumo wrestlers typically eat only twice a day, but they eat very large portions of a type of beef stew with white rice and beer. They drink Beer with food Alcohol increases cortisol levels which creates a layer of fat around the belly. This way your abdominal area will become the “beer belly”! They go right to sleep after each meal (for 3-4 hours during the day or overnight after last meal) Going to bed with full stomachs means that their bodies must respond to the huge flood of nutrients with a rush of insulin, forcing their bodies to store some of it in the cells as fat instead of in the muscles and organs as nutrients. They eat with others in a social atmosphere According to leading researchers, a meal eaten with others can be at least 44 percent larger and with 30 percent more calories and fat.

Trying to oompare a sumo wrestler to a NFL left tackle is a bit of a stretch even for the weak of brain. I could elaborate but it would be even a bigger waste of my time than posting this. If one does the research, it is a pretty common problem with healthy NFL linemen.

"And it would be real easy for me to lose weight." Yea.. I used to say the same thing. Funny thing happens to the body at around 40-45 though. and by 50. loosing weight aint so "real easy" anymore. LOL

Lucky he isn't following the advice of the updated-school-lunch administrators and their online-posting supporters - "850 calories at lunch and 2500 calories a day is great plenty for growing athletes - if he needs more, eat a 190 calorie granola bar before practice." He'd be down to the recommended non-obese BMI upper limit of 173 lbs in a month.
