She should regard reelection as license to play a larger role.

She'll get a 2nd term, but "deserve" I don't think so. I haven't heard much from her until the reelection ads started airing on TV. Kind of like the other senator we have, what's his name again? Franklin, Frank, something like that, I guess. MN, where not rocking the boat, is just fine with us.

Amy Klobuchar voted for EVERY penny of Barack Obama's $5 trillion-plus in spending since he took office. Every single penny of it Klobuchar supported. In fact, Klobuchar is MORE to blame for that spending than Obama is because it is the Congress (House and Senate) that writes the laws and allocates spending in bills which are signed or vetoed by the President. So when you think about the lives and the taxes your children and grandchildren will have to pay, you can thank Amy Klobuchar because she was instrumental in adding trillions upon trillions of dollars to the national debt, even before Obama was elected.

Amy seems to be a good person and she could serve our country well in any other time, but we need a major sweep in the Senate to allow the country to turn around. 16 Trillion dollars in debt is an absolute threat to our country, and this needs to be dealt with now. The Democratic Senate has not even proposed a budget in three years.

A) Don't diminish Bills as merely a "social studies teacher and wrestling coach." he is an Econ teacher, a union member (NEA), a business co-owner and former Rosemount City Council member and Planning Commission member. Don't mis-frame him for the sake of your editorial. B) not sure about the "deserve" term, but as I described to a friend from out-of-state recently: Klobuchar is likable, generally non-controversial, and championed some very Minnesota-centric things for her constituents. She may not be the most visible or influential member of the Senate, but she certainly hasn't done nothing, nor has she done anything to deserve getting ousted. C) I actually felt fortunate to have Klobuchar and Bills on the ballot. I think they are both, in the end, good people with good intentions. Oh, if only I felt that way about all the matchups on the ballot.

Why isn't the StarTribune looking into Klobuchars connection with Tom Petters? I guess if you are DFL you can get away with anything.

2 comments, Amys high profile expertise is ribbon cutting with a little rubber stamping added in. The Survey USA poll is robo-calling numbers furnished by the Star, not exactly the most accurate read.

Oh what a shocker, endorsing a candidate who is a democrat. Why does the Editorial board even bother publishing this? In mind mind there is zero credibility with the editorial board. A senator of the majority party in a failure of a Senate does not deserve another term.

What little she has done has been nothing short of destructive.

Hooray for Amy and Hooray for the Strib! Most people forget that she did the work of two Senators during the almost year-long recount in 2008-2009. As a tough prosecutor, Amy kept us safe in Minneapolis, As a quiet and persistent vvoice for Minnesotans, she learned the ropes and served with honor. Go get 'em in the second term, Amy! We have your back. Thanls to the Strib. Endorse more strong women.

How does Klobuchar not get ripped for supporting the growth of government in pretty much every possible way, then making a big deal of it when she helps a few individuals cut through red tape she helped create? That's the liberal way...create a barrier for the average person, then select a few people to help and make it look like you're helping the little guy.
