Sid Hartman: Peterson not getting into end zone lately

  • Article by: SID HARTMAN , Star Tribune

The All-Pro running back hasn't scored in a career-high five games, a big reason for the Vikings' red zone issues.

2 typos in consecutive paragraphs. This is just sad. I weep for the day when editors could spell.

Sure didn't take Gomer Pyle Teague long to get Sid in line about the $800,000 North Carolina bailout. That's an example of an old Sid tradition: follow whoever has the power at the time (Maturi? Who's Maturi?)

It's pretty hard to score TD's when the coaches pull you out of the game almost every time they're within 10-15 yards of the end zone.

There is no hiding the fact that Peterson has lost a step over the past two seasons compared to when he was at the top of his game from 2006-2009. NFL backs typically see a decline in their stats at or a couple years before Peterson's current age of 27. Peterson is no longer the "beast" your average homer thinks he is anymore and the vikings should trade him next season while they can still get something decent in return for his continuing declining skills. Besides, Peterson will welcome a trade because he knows he will never win a Super Bowl ring in a viking uniform and that is for certain.

So Teague is prepared to "make the tough decisions" How about trying to make a smart decision? What a joke!

All "big time" schools schedule patsies but not many (any) BT programs pay almost a million to get out of one, or two.

ha ha. Thanks for the $800k Minnesota! We figured you would at least play the front end before wetting yourself and backing out. Guess there is a reason your school colors are yellow. Boo! ha ha...scared you again! Go Heels!

Can Teague buy out Wisconsin and Nebraska as well, Saint Kates and Saubt Bens might have openings in their fall schedules to avoid future humiliations.
