denny WAS a good judge of talent. he couldn't control the talent all the time (or ever, depending on who you ask), but man the guy could pick them. aside from daunte, who would have been phenomenal if he had bigger hands and a better brain for the game, he really did a good job drafting. i don't know why the morning radio shows hated him so much -- he got us into the playoffs almost every year and swept the packers in 1998.

Randy Moss swept the packers in '98. Denny's problem was that he wanted to prove to people he could turn problem (high risk) guys into starters. Underwood and numerous other D linemen. He did have an eye for talent but at times it was lost just to prove a point.

Denny Greene aside, I wish there was a way to get Fitzgerald "home" but I guess his contract is so solid with Arizona that it will never happen. Too bad; the Lynx brought Whalen home. Just for fun though, would it be great to see Harvin, Fitzgerald, and Decker all lined up in Viking's uniforms?

"Frazier said what makes Fitzgerald great is "his size, his determination, how athletic he is, he has good speed. He is so determined to catch the ball and believes that nobody can cover him. He's a good athlete." Every time I see Fitzgerald play, he reminds me a lot of Chris Carter, arguably, with more speed. But the determination, attitude, and competitiveness is there as well as the pass catching determination. He is fun to watch and so was Chris Carter.

Fitzgerald was a no brainer, you would have had to shoot him in the head for him not to be great. Not only Green but many, many other coaches predicted he was going to a super star. Sid has nothing else to write about, we get a story like this. If it weren't for Sid stealing stories from other writers, he wouldn't have a career.

Sid, are you kidding? Denny had so many failed draft picks. EVERYONE knew Moss was good. The only question is who would put up with his nonsense. And for a few years it worked. Then he became a team cancer....twice.

If we were to ask Denny know about Larry Fitzgerald, he might say that "he is who we that he was". Hopefully, the Vikes don't "let him off the hook" on Sunday afternoon.

Denny Green was not and never will be a good judge on anything!!! The man is a complete embarrassment to say the least and the main reason the vikings continue to sport an empty Super Bowl / World Championship trophy case!!!

Fitz is a good example for the problems at the U of M football program.. The hockey program gets the top MN recruits.. the football program doesn't..

I like Coach Kill, but we should have kept North Carolina on the schedule. Giving them $800,000 doesn't look good and we could go to so called lesser opponents later.
