Remember how the U of M teated Royce White never allowing him to even practice yet Tubby and gang seem to have a different rule for Mbakwe and his problems. White went on to star for Iowa State and now is a Houston Rocket (1st round draft pick). Maybe Tubby Smith and Joel Maturi should look in the mirror.

Come on people. Don't be so harsh about this one. Maybe he got the beers at the new football stadium where you need to show your drivers license and show you are going to drive home after buying as many beers as you can afford.

It appears that this guy has a built-in self destruct mechanism working to assure that he will not be able to realize his potential as a basketball player let alone as an adult. Tubby will keep giving him chances since he really has no one else to step into Mkwabe's shoes to he;p the Gophers try to get close to .500 in conference play.

For all of you who talk about the underbelly of college athletics when things happen at Ohio State, Penn State, USC or elsewhere, this situation is a perfect example of that underbelly. Orlando is trying to save his own skin by doing nothing and letting Mbakwe just play on. This is a guy with a mutiple arrest record who has violated a restraining order and probation. Most college athletes don't have restraining orders or probation in the first place, but when they do and they violate them, there needs to be a reaction from the university besides, "I think he has the opportunity to make this his living and I don't want to mess that up for him". What a hypocrite, Smith! Back when your job was more secure, Royce White was accused of stealing a laptop, but it was found that there was no evidence and he was never arrested or charged. You sat him all year. Mbakwe violates a restraining order one year and probation the next, and you can't wait to get him on the floor. We know Orlando's incompetent, but where's the new, "better" AD in all of this?
