Let me see if I understand this -- management wants to raise money from donors specifically to send talented musicians out to the pasture?

A pricing model based on over 80% donations isn't sustainable. I do not donate in large amounts, but I will be stopping my donations if this lockout occurs. I believe that the Board has overestimated the loyalty of donors if they choose to trash the orchestra. The Board is fixated on having a great orchestra on the cheap, but all they will end up with is a cheap orchestra. And all of the free tickets in the world won't entice me to attend.
