By all accounts, Mr. Rantz is a wonderful guy, and should be applauded for all he's done for the Twins in his career, especially his role in contributing players who helped win the team's 2 World Championships. Still, this is probably about time, as the Twins' farm system over the past decade has been lackluster, failing to produce a single long-term viable 3B, SS or 2B during that time, limited SP help, and a ridiculously ragged AAA team that didn't regain credibility until this season. When sentimentality trumps results, we get consecutive last-place finishes and 195 losses over the past 2 seasons.

Should have happened ten years ago. Now get rid of Gardy and Andy. They should have been the first to go. You still have cronys like Smith and Bell hangin around. The Twins will never win a championship as long as a Pohlad is the owner. That's just the way it is.

partskcoj wasn't a Pohlad the owner in 87 and 91? Funny, I recall us winning the World Series both of those years.

Mr. Rantz, you have been one of the major reasons the Twins have had one of the most respected minor league operations part of their club for years. Thank you for all of your work on behalf of my beloved Minnesota Twins over the decades. Well Done Jim!! Enjoy your retirement! **proud Minnesota Twins fan since 1961**

Many thanks to Jim for everything he did to help get us into all those World Series, and even win some! Words can't express Twins fan's gratitude. But this won't help us win any games. Ron Gardenhire should take his place and we'd kill two birds with one stone.
