Cloud computing is creeping into corporations, and they might as well make the best of it, an analyst will tell local execs.

Why is everybody so excited about this, it's nothing new. Cloud computing is just a fancy name for time sharing - something that the TIES company was doing with school districts in the late 60's. While the security measures have been greatly enhanced, the methods of being able to get to your data have increased, it's certainly not a new concept.

There are many better reasons not to use the cloud depending on the size of your business, reasons of security, access, ownership, and third party use. The cloud sounds like a reat opportunity for little brother to lock information and dole it out to this one but not that depending on LBs whims. Who says big brother is your worst enemy?
