Sad, they could be giving money to a hospital like the Shriners, instead.

Catholics and Crusades. You just can't have one without the other one. Or oppression for that matter.

Sad. To suggest that all of this anti-equality work hasn't taken away from their charitable work is just foolish. When a person or a group is spending time, money, and attention on one thing, it is obviously not being spent on other things. That's the nature of time, money, and attention--they can only be used for one thing at a time. It's sad to think that there are otherwise well-intentioned folks out there who are taking away from charity work to focus on keeping a group of their fellow Americans less equal and free than themselves under the law.

Doesn't this just seal the deal with this being about one religious organizations ideas? I don't see Lutherans who read the same book filling us with hate? This is absolutely ridiculous. It's a smear on the founders of this country who faced fear of death and went to war to release themselves from the tyranny of religious rule. We've fought this all around the world and protected those who in the horrors of genocide to free people from religious cleansing. Now people who benefit from the freedom and protection we get from the Constitution of the United States of America are using that freedom to steal from freedom their own countrymen. Some of these people are overseas in you military. Some of them are your neighbors and coworkers. Maybe your children or children you will have some day. Whom are they to choose for others? Whom are they to make choices for other consenting adults? Why do they think this is their right?

Sometimes good people do bad things. As the report stated, most are 60-70 years old. They come from a time when it was considered okay to discriminate and be intolerant of non-heterosexual orientations.

Marriage - 1 man 1 woman - has been the definition of marriage for 2000 years ... yet, the anti-Catholic bigots act like it's so outrageous that anyone would want to support it. For those of you wondering what Jesus would do, maybe you should read the Bible ... there is no support for gay marriage there. If you are a member of a religion that supports gay marriage and a 'no' vote, then it seems *you* are the ones imposing your beliefs to change what has existed for over 2000 years.

Wally_99: Are you sure it is bigotry against Catholics or former Catholics who thought that leaving meant they didn't have to be bossed around by men in dresses and other men with ostrich feathers and swords?
