Hartman: Turnovers are again costly for U in defeat

Two weeks ago, four turnovers did in the Gophers in a loss at Iowa. This week, that trend continued with two game-deciding turnovers resulting in touchdowns in Saturday's 21-13 loss to Northwestern at TCF Bank Stadium.

They're simply a lousy team, Sid. Nothing will change it.......another year in the basement of their division.

The Maturi Curse has doomed the Gophers and their fans. There is no hope!

I like the idea of switching the D line guys up. Allen obviously does not like it, but you have to keep all of them fresh and aggressive.

The NMSU Aggies? Way to add some meat to the non-conference schedule.

I have a huge question, if the Gophers knew he had a history of seizures, why hire him? Dumb. He needs to start thinking about a medical retirement. Pay him off gophers and hire a new coach. Maturi blows it again.

Come on guys give the gophers some respect, I believe they are much better than in the past few years, Kill is a good coach and has other coaches too that we never hear about,..With that said I still think that Marc Trestman would have turned things around before Brewster was hired to do, meanwhile Trestman has won 2 straight division championship up in Canada with the Montreal Alouettes

Sorry but the gophers are the same old same old. I want to know who called the fourth and goal fade to the corner? Arguably the dumbest play call I have ever seen in the history of football. The commitment to the receiver has to be made instantly, all other possible options are eliminated, and you are betting on a long shot. No, with play calling like that, either a coach has to answer to it, or an audible from the QB. So who was it? I don't see ANYBODY standing up to take responsibility.

And I will go one step further on players.... You have a quarterback who is talented throwing the ball. I have been impressed when the weather didn't affect the passing game. You have a quarterback who is very talented running the ball but very suspect in the passing game. So why not make the running quarterback, the running back, and put both of them in the game?

Priceless Sid: "They likely would have won both the Iowa and Northwestern games had he been able to start and play four quarters."

@bmoscoe - Trestman?? Can we please end the speculation on every former Minnesota guy for potential coaching vacancies? Trestman, Saunders, Kiffin, Dungy, and on and on. I would rather try to get the best coach rather than the best coach who once had a cup of coffee in Minnesota.
