Preschool set actually engaged in scientific inquiry

If schools would start teaching about science in preschool or kindergarten, the kids would think of science like they do english or math classes, just part of the normal curriculum. If we treat science as this lofty pursuit, then it will always remain something of a mystery and scare people away.

@ninetyniner: I think you've completely missed the point of the article. It's NOT "teaching science" that's being touted. It's the opposite: Giving the pre-schooler exercise and free room in creative thinking and self-experimentation. "Teaching" anything tends to stifle creativity, as the examples in the articles illustrated. Children are great natural learners, they by-and-large teach themselves a foreign language (their first language) by listening and doing, not by being formally taught.
