Well that sucks. I grew up going to the old Elm Creek playground in the '70s that was demolished a couple summers ago, and riding bike to Eastman. I've enjoyed taking my kids to Eastman on bike to show them the nature themes I saw growing up. At least that was still the same last year and this. Now everything is "newified". Not better, just "newified".

I saw that there was one comment on this article. I thought to myself, "There's no way that could be a negative comment". Well done ballraker, you have proven me wrong. I will be sure to stay off your yard.

Another Star Tribune story about a building that doesn't even mention the architect or the design team.

The architects were Meyer, Scherer & Rockcastle, Ltd. Thomas Meyer, principal in charge and Allison Salzman, Project Architect. Please make sure you mention the architects in the future.

ballraker: I remember that old playground too, the best one ever in my opinion. Everything's hard rubber and plastic today it seems. So many scrapes, cuts, bruises and splinters from that old playground...but always good times.

if you write a story about a BUILDING, you must mention the ARCHITECT. it is as simple as that. otherwise it is like writing about a book without ever mentioning its author.

I sure the park playground of your childhood is full of great memories. With that said, how on earth could you not love the new million dollar playground there?!?! It is beyond amazing. By far the best playground I have ever seen.
