when is running red lights going to be high on there list or dwi after a vikings game.i know they can only do one thing at a time,so these are only petty things so it might take so time to get high on their list.

Why are we wasting money protecting people from themselves? If you don't care enough about yourself to buckle that should be your choice. Lets get the drunks off the roads. They are the ones we need protection from. BTW mred58, please call 911 if you suspect a drunk driver. I am frustrated too about the drunks after the games and will do anything I can to get them off the roads.

mred58 is exactly right. The DPS should use their "special-money funded campaign" on red light runners! Or, pay for the whole new STADIUM in one shot by breath testing each person leaving the next Vikings home game (and those driving to it for that matter). No, that would be too obvious and REALLY have an impact on public safety, especially when the spokesperson admitted in the article that while 43% not wearing a seat belt in an accident die, 57% DO! (hint: don't use stats like that)

The goal isn't about issuing tickets OR saving lives. It's all about overtime and federal money, and these guys count on it every year. When do taxpayers get something that actually benefits them? Where is the targeted enforcement of tailgating and running red lights on city surface streets?

i cannot figure out how more people don't become outraged at the seat belt law. the government has made a law protecting you from yourself. i don't think a more unconsititutional law could be written.

If you want DUI check points coming out of a Vikings game then talk to your liberal lawmakers. Other states do well with them but not good ol Minnesota. Wouldn't want to offend a drunk driver now would we?

The seat belt law is just another example of government hypocrisy and greed. Another way to tap the taxpayer, and trying to save themselves from themselves. Why are motorcyclists not required to wear helmets, but i need to wear a seat belt? does wearing a seat belt make you a better driver? absolutely not. This law is a bad law, and needs to go now. end of story. I am sick and tired of government passing more useless laws.

For those of you that don't want to wear your seatbelt, don't. But, let's make sure there is a law in place where non-seatbelt wearers MUST sign a waiver stating they will pay all hospital bills, funeral expenses, etc. out of their pocket! People that are too stupid to wear a seatbelt end up costing others money because EVERYBODY'S insurance costs more because of them! Idiots.
