Face it kids' we have no REAL wide receivers besides Percy Harvin, so it is imperative that we get Jerome back on the field. SKOL!

I agree that Harvin and Simpson look head and shoulders above everyone else at wide receiver on this Vikes squad but when it comes to receivers as a whole and you add in the tight ends the receiving game looks a lot better. Kyle Rudolph is also one of those players that could be covered but it doesn't matter and Rhett Ellison is proving to be the real deal. I'm still waiting for John Carlson to contribute as well. He's now healthy, he's still young, and he's already had two seasons in the NFL where he's caught at least 50 passes.

Maybe Peterson will leave Washington in the same condition as he did last time???

Is Carlson injured? You might think so...but a 25 million dollar contract, for a TE seeing limited playing time now and only 2 catches on the year w/ a net total of 1 yard. The worst and most worthless contract on the team! We could of used that 25 million for another top notch WR. Carlson will be gone by season end.

Defense has been the real surprise and the reason we are 4-1. Their play is over shadowing our deficiencies on offense. I just hope the D is for real. If the offense could ever make strides and if we could have just a hint of a downfield passing game, this could be a very good year.

siouxchamp...AGREE!!! Another Rick Spielman special. At least his draft picks appear to be making contributions. That $25 million was terrible the day it signed, regardless of Carlson's performance. Just have no idea what Spielman was thinking about.

I don't care how big, or how tough you are. When a 3-year old in a Hello Kitty costume yells, "boo!"..... you jump!

Because Frazier/Musgrave are the worst head coach/oc in the NFL the team will collapse and miss playoffs. 8-8 record at best.

siouxchamp - superb post and spot-on. The piece itself is wrong - there 'are' injuries, including Simpson, and with no other outside threat at all, that's significant enough to keep the Vikings from being considered injury clean. AD has an ankle issue also, so DUH on that one to the StarTrib. And, when one of two TEs is hurt, I guess that qualifies as *injury*...
