Don't worry about Mitt Romney's proposed cuts to PBS. It's his other cuts that should concern you.

At the rate per capita government spending has gone up, no federal budget in almost 4 years, and the sky rocketing deficit.....why would anyone vote for an incumbent President or legislator?

So at teh end the author once again lays blame with everyone else but this administration, nothing is their fault. So the state department got less money, all departments should have we are broke. But given that, why wouldnt you place higher security in high risk areas, the embassy even requested more security and was denied, sorry Dana Admin gets a F on this one. They need to man up and start accepting responsibility for their shortfalls, and if the state department is so short on cash as you claim, then maybe do less travel. There is the fantastic thing called video conferencing, business use it to save money, maybe the government should try it

Even more dangerous than the unknown cuts that Romney and Ryan WILL make when elected is not admitting to ourselves that those (yet to be named) cuts and many more are to be required to stave off fiscal failure. Admittedly, a high growth low tax scenario for economic success is as far fetched as our current save everyone with a grand handout, but better to get a trim now than get shaved before a big corrective surgery.

On financial TV show the commentators are required to disclose their vested interests. I would like the author to disclose the author’s vested interests. In the end I think the author did…

A couple of weeks ago, Dana Milbank wrote how we should all "go easy" on the bumbling, hapless, foolish and impossibly stupid Mitt Romney. After all, Pres. Obama was effortlessly breezing his way to re-election, and all Mr. Romney could do was slip on banana peels. One debate later, and we have Mr. Milbank singing a decidedly different, and scarey, tune. But don't worry, we readers should all "go easy" on Mr. Milbank, as he feasts on a different sort of big bird than a fake, yellow-feathered one: crow, that is! Ha!

The GOP has done everything they could to make sure the current President and his administration would not succeed in helping America and American's get out the mess created by the former GOP president. They have done this at the expense of the majority of the American people. Where are the priorities? Rommey keeps saying 'I have a plan...' The big question on most people's minds... What is it? Then again, the Plan probably changes with the wind as does most of what he says from day to day.

I would argue that the REAL "elephant in the room" are the tax increases that will be required on EVERYONE (not just mean rich guys) to pay for the Obama Administration's endless string of government handouts! If Obama truly believes in the merits of his programs, then have the intellectual honesty to be forthright with the American people about exactly how much his generosity is going to cost and who is going to pay for it!!! (Here's a hint -- get a mirror.....lol)

I wonder if I could use this excuse with my mortgage company if I had to take a pay cut? "No I cannot afford to make my mortgage payment this month. Yes, I paid my cell phone and cable bills. Yes, I went out to dinner 7 times this month. Yes, these are new sneakers. Why do you ask?"

What is so dissapointing is the positioning of the article... yes it is opinion, and the author is intitled to their opinion and I am sure with all things of this nature, some enjoy reading this... the dissapointing part is it gets top billing in the catagory online. Media bias continues to push these type of articles.. the obvious items that seem to float by the writer Wasnt Jim Lehrer of PBS the moderator? Is it not true we have a spending problem? Subsidies are consider the cream off the top... Look at the national numbers we spend on subsidies of all types... and yes Jim Lehrer being the monitor may bring to mind the PBS subsidy After all it was President Obama said upon his campaign that he would cut the deficit by half... along the line of irresponsible and unpatriotic what had transpired before him. The author also missed the fact of review of all spending, which includes PBS not a shocker, just that we have a spending problem... and apparently talking about cuts is a point of contention for Media and Authors
