Wow. You can be nominated for endlessly talking about you're golf game during a baseball contest.

Lots of respect for Gordo for his long time service to Twins fans and for being one of the nicest guys in the world. But Hall of Fame worthy ? No.

Touch 'em all Gordo! He was such an exciting voice on the radio with great inflection.

Sat with John Gordon several years ago at a Twins caravan and he was a total class act. Great during autograph time, chatted with everyone, young and old. Pretty good at the mic, too, when it was his turn to speak. At the table Gordo never big-timed anyone, never looked over your shoulder during conversation to the next person. I thought he had a passion for his trade and was outstanding while representing the Twins both on air and off. Touch em' all John Gordon. Hope you get inducted into baseball's Hall of Fame.

Some people are at the right place at the right time. Other people get shot just for trying to make a bank deposit on a day a bank is held up. John Gordon is a nice guy who was at the right place at the right time. Was he the best at his craft, when it comes to the historic voices of the game? Does he belong in Cooperstown? Hmmmm.

Enjoyed JG's work. My favorite JG - Gladden moment - Terry Tiffee was injured in a horrific collision at home with the rock, Pudge Rodriguez. Later in the broadcast, when the got an injury report, one of the two solemnly announced that, "Terry T had suffered a broken cervix." Last I checked, this is a uniquely female body part. The lads had meant to say clavicle. Neither one corrected this anatomical error. Carry on JG!!

For different reasons, Gordo is tied with Bremer and Blyleven for the title of worst baseball broadcasters in the history of the game.

"Gordon, known for his "Touch 'em all" call after home runs by the Twins, joined the team's radio broadcasts in 1987 and retired after the 2011 season." -- Dick Enberg was doing that call on Angels broadcasts years before Gordon ever got into the business. Sometimes his malapropisms and statements of the obvious made it hard to listen. Yes, he's a nice guy and a class act ... but Cooperstown?
