The Gophers don't know/aren't saying if MarQueis Gray will play Saturday, throwing a dose of uncertainty right back at Northwestern.

Hopefully, they won't get blown out by the Wildcats but easily could if their defense plays as badly and as true to tradition as it did against Iowa. based upon that game and a rather weak non-conference schedule, there really is no reason to expect more than one more win and possibly two at the outside wins this season. Still an awfully long way to go for the Gophers to be taken seriously as a D-1 football team

I think the world of Coach Kill and his staff...they are all fine coaches and are doing it the right way. Talent still remains the biggest factor between top teams and the usual cellar-dwellers. We do not have a Big10 QB...even if Gray plays, he will not be too effective against NW. Gophers don't really have any exceptional RBs...Kirkwood has seemed passable so far (altho he didn't get many yards at Iowa). He is just not a good Big10 RB. I don't know what to expect...heard raves about "all the great RBs on the team" but so far, haven't seen any! We're pulling for you Gophs, but haven't seen that much to hope for yet!!! Maybe this Saturday!

I wish Coach Kill will use Gray as a WR. He's got speed and great hands and if he (Gray) ever has a chance to play in the NFL it will be at WR (Just look at Tebow). The other thing I like is he can line up as a wide out but behind the line and catch a pass (a lateral)and throw it down field or run with it. It really puts pressure on the defense as most of the other players are in the middle of the field but they have to stay with their guys or Gray will pass to them. This is where Gray should play for the rest of the year with a few exceptions under center.
