As medical apps on iPads and iPhones become more commonplace, doctors struggle to keep the human touch at the heart of medicine.

There is no app for teaching humanity and caring. I love where he says, "And don't look like you're in a hurry." But you are. It's a rare doctor who's not. And patients can tell. And it's not just doctors who are having this struggle. Technology is taking over our culture and outpacing not only our time but ability to develop our humanity and our ability to adapt it to our needs in a healthy way. I'm not against technology but we need to make sure we use it humanely in the broadest sense and that it is not using us. I am not missing the irony that I am typing this online...
