No, it's not. Since all sites where you establish accounts require you to login to do anything, that's not a step. After you login, it will take you 3 clicks to get to the page where you can close your account, but those clicks are not steps to closing the account.
If you don't understand the difference between a step and a click to get to a step, then you really shouldn't be writing about technology.
LinkedIn does seem to be mostly a spam generator. Most of the activity I get is a big waste of time.
