I'd hate to think that any group, whether gender or racial is "in decline." And I don't think anyone should wish decline on them. That's just my little opinion.

Great piece! I was started to wear out my eyeballs with their constant rolling every time a study proclaimed men "in decline" because one out of five women earned more than their husbands (which requires one to completely ignore the fact that figure means four out of five men earn more than their wives).

Men tend to populate both ends of the bell curve more than women. Some men do exceptionally well, but others do exceptionally poorly as compared to women as a group. Men exceed women at suicide rates and incarceration rates by large numbers. Let's not base our understanding of the genders by looking at one sub group.

"Diversity" is just another form of discrimination. The ONLY demographic group that has NO protections under the law is the white male. His is the only group with no legal recourse for job, or other types of, discrimination. Yet this does happen more frequently that one might think.

It appears the authors don't have a clue what is happening out here in the workplace.

It should be noted that both authors mentioned in this article are women, so of course that will affect their perspective.

I agree with ntaggart, and he is right. Discrimination is everywhere but men get no help at all. Yes, more woman are now in college and will that be called discrimination? It should be, according to all of the papers and the magazines. Xenophobia means that people are afraid of anything strange or different. Maybe that is what is happening here with those two woman who wrote these articles. If things continue maybe all men will be seen as Xenohobias and to be avoided? Sure. Lets do that to nearly half of the population for heavens sake.
