The food is very good but I get sick everytime I eat there so I stopped going there. Do they import the water from Mexico City or what?

Interesting that these arrangements are called cooperatives.

It is unfortunate. I've had a birds eye view of these problems. One restaurant got cited for rotten beans and there was no discipline. Other tenants get threatened with expulsion. But so long as you sit on the restaurant committee you are protected. City environtal has this complaint. An illegal pharmacy was operating here and raided about 2 weeks. Again since the owner has another business and sits on the board- no discipline. another claims exclusivity to french rolls used on sandwiches (even though this bread sells ove the counter at any store)and no one else can sell it. Inaddition, they get free rent for the basement use. Again theysit on the board. It goes on. I wonder why the previous manager is not managing (or should I say "protecting the select few" It seems that hard line politics from the Latin cultures has infiltrated the Mercado.

Yup there are problems, but I've seen plenty of family businesses and shareholder owned companies have fighting...inclusding best buy. Of course those who want to feed their narrow view never cite these free market examples of the same problem.
