I think it's the turn around of the defense that's the biggest story this year for the Vikes.

I certainly like what I'm seeing from the defense over the past three games. The run defense is returning to what it was a few years ago and our new, young secondary is starting to show they're for real as well. When's the last time we could say that about our defensive backfield? As my old HS coach would say..."defense wins ball games; offense sells tickets!"

Football 101...rebuilding a football team starts with the defense. We knew the d-line had depth and talent, but questions existed with the linebackers and secondary. To our (fans) surprise we're seeing the whole defense play physical and smart...way to go!

I agree. Our defense has been a pleasant surprise. What is concerning is that Winfield is getting long in the tooth and he was pick on all day Sunday. That actually speaks to how much the Vikings defense has improved. When Winfield is your weak link in the secondary, you have obviously improved in that regard. Very nice to see. Now if Ponder can improve his > 5 yard passing accuracy, this team could surprise all of us and fight for the division title.

The Vikings defense is finally growing into their horns. Fast, smart, tough and showing a nasty disposition on the tackle is what they've lacked for a long time. It won't be long before the other teams WR's won't want to go downfield as they know they're going to get clocked.

I'm actually exited when the opponent gets into a 3rd and long now. Whereas just a couple games ago I was shaking with fear and wondering how the defense would let me down once again. What a relief this turnaround has been!
