What is this? Are we still in the smoke signals era? I mean you can't cordinate or radio call each other's position when a sensor is triggered? Whats the use of the sofisticated ground sensor when you can't even cordinate who needs to respond?

Lots of tax payer dollars for what amounts to a pile of s*** equipment.

Why is the Union making the press release? Have they taken control of our Govt? Probably because their upper managers (non-union political appointees of all stripes) are in full CYA mode and would spin the story to fit whatever political agenda they are backing. The union may be pointing out that they do not have the proper resouces needed to do their mission.

So clearly he established the identity of the other person and confirmed they were a smuggler. This wasn't an accident, it was a matter of time for him. Sorry, but sometimes the truth hurts.

"elmore1-Why is the Union making the press release? Have they taken control of our Govt?" Because apparently the Govt doesn't want you to know what happened. Sin of omission.

Obviously some posters have no idea what is to try to find & arrest heavily armed criminals in night so dark you can't see the front sight, in a desert as hostile as any our military has to deal with in Afghanistan. Our border patrol officers are almost always outnumbered & outgunned. I was afraid sooner or later we would have a tragedy like this happen. Instead of snarky comments, say a prayer for both those that died & survived...

"The union may be pointing out that they do not have the proper resouces needed to do their mission." - - CYA statement if ever I heard one.
