As a SJU fan, it is no doubt that change is needed in coaching, not just the head coach , Gagliardi, but all of his assistants. Talk to the high school athletes considering SJU, many I know who come from very good Catholic families. They are unimpressed. These guys want to get a good education but also want to play for a modern day, competitive, div 3 football program. The SJU football legacy no doubt has been built and deservedly so, though it truly would be a shame for this to be lost because needed change in these roles don't happen in a timely manner. Div 3 football is very good football. The MIAC is stronger than ever; I hope SJU can build on it's legacy with this needed change.

SJU's glorious past is actually hindering their competitiveness. In my opinion they have been without a true head coach for at least 3 years. And if the status quo remains in effect, I predict the slide will continue.
