Do tell us why we support a company with tax dollars that generates millions of dollars in revenue by selling products to children. I don't want Halliburton receiving tax dollars or PBS.

Sesame Street is a commercial venture. Look at the shelves in your toy store, book store, video store or stage presentations. Why on earth should we be using tax dollars for a company like PBS that makes millions in profits. And for those that want to say they are non-profit you might want to look up what makes an organization non-profit.

I support removing funding for public television. If you want it, fund it yourself.

With all the billions in wasteful spending, the only savings Romney can come up with is to fire Big Bird. Once a downsizer always a downsizer.

Ahh, the Republican mantra: Cut funding for someone else's stuff; just don't cut funding for any of *my* stuff.

did the fools supporting this even read the article? VERY little money goes to SS, big big survives even if we eliminate to 15% PBS gets of OUR money. No more funding these groups that do just fine on their own. Do some actually think we need to fund ANY TV program anymore? Not exactly the days of fireside chats.

Lets cut funding for everything, across the board, we should all have skin in the game since most voted for the people that put us in this mess, democrats and republicans are equally at fault.

"It is only 450 million" as heard on network TV last night. ONLY 450 million. We just downgraded our cable service to save $10.00 a month. I am so sick and tired of people protecting liberal sacred cows with this nonsense that 450 million is peanuts. Added together with all the other peanuts it soon adds up to a whole bunch of peanuts.

In a very basic framework, what Mr. Romney was saying and so many do not understand yet alone embrace is the reality that Government (local, state and federal), cannot and should not be all things to all people.

Mitt, our next president hit the mail on the head with every line he spoke. Obama was shown to be the empty suit I pegged him for the first time I heard him talk. PBS makes millions. PBS is slanted to the far left, which is why our tax dollars should not be used to spread leftwing propaganda. Juan Williams firing for speaking the truth (most of us feel the sanesT,without the courage to say it out loud)should have been the last straw. Public funding should have been cut the next day.
