U women win WCHA opener

Nice start to open the season in an expected victory over SCSU. The win was especially nice because North Dakota, who is expected to challenge the Gophers for WCHA supremacy, lost to Minnesota State, at home. And perennial power UMD lost to Ohio State in their WCHA opener, also at home. Not to get ahead of ourselves, but this Gopher team could turn out to be something special. It's very early, but based on their strong start to open the season, a repeat of their winning the NCAA title is not out of the question.
