They fired the wrong coaches!!! We'll find that out next year.

It keeps getting better for Twins fans. Molitor "not a fit" won't put him on staff. Hope Paul has good sense to take another job. Take a look at White Sox and Ventura managing sucess. Twins should give him Gardy's office today. What a Joke!!

"We have never told anybody that they have to spend X dollars and we have never told them that they can't spend whatever they are recommending," Pohlad said.----Isn't this a bunch of BS? So, why was payroll cut last year? We signed a bunch of retreads because money wasn't provided to get better pitchers. If it was true, then Ryan and most of the rest of those recommending anything should be fired because what they recommended sucked.

Gardenhire is heading into the final year of his contract, but there will be no extension talks for now. "I explained that to Ron and he has accepted that," Ryan said, "and he said he doesn't deserve a contract extension. That's been discussed." Next year is the final year for Gardenhire. No contract extension means that losing will not be tolerated. He should just announce his retirement now and enjoy the off season.

Absolute bs coming from Ryan's mouth. The Twins have a HARD salary cap imposed by little Jimmy. If Molitor was interestedbut "wasn't a good fit", exactly what did that mean? That he wanted control on the field and personnel decisions? That he wanted too much money? Your team is hopeless and hapless and you fire the peripheral coaches that don't do anything, and Ryan expects the fans to accept that as progress? Absolute bs.

Militor probably wanted Gardy's job, but for some reason it's not available even though it should be. Gardy is and was in charge of the last two seasons, not the scape goats they got rid of

I imagine the payroll is fluid. A GM can get a higher than owner reccomended budget, as long as he realizes that the pressure/expectations will ALSO be higher on him. So, you take what the owner reccomends and you continue to keep your job. I believe Ryan generally does a good job and expect the team to again be a contender in 2014 when the next wave of talent arrives. Gardy will be back if he can finish around .500 in 2013. In my opinion, if you miss the playoffs you might as well finish last. Better draft picks! All teams go in cycles, except the Pirates? The Yankees will always have an advantage because of their payroll and the lack of testing for human growth hormone. Look what happened to the Red Sox and their large payroll. IMO the Twins have a very talented farm system from high A & down, so it will take some time to arrive. Be patient, things will get better, but it may take a couple of years.

Ryan has a difficult job,he is a GM for cheapskate owners. He also is given too much credit as a winner with the Twins. He is no Andy MacPhail. He hasn't won much as GM of the Twins and fans here treat him as if he has.

Sure am glad we built them a ballpark. They might as well play in the Dome cause thats how there purse strings will be dictated. Terry don't insult are intelligence. The honeymoon is over.
