why is helgeson a'lock'? he's a big dude, but if there's players with more speed and skill, they should get the nod

Helgesen's role is going to be the "enforcer" again this year.....he will lead the team in P/PIM just like the last two years, both conference and total games. The issue is, the gophs don't need an enforcer, or maybe such a blatant one! they will have plenty of offense and speed that stupid penalties and the march to the penalty box is unnecessary. If Helgesen can't play a disciplined game this year, he shouldn't be on the ice!

Man, you forget about that 2002 D lineup...about as good as it gets. Let's be honest. I think Blake Thompson is sitting, and Justin Holl has to be pretty concerned about PT. The two freshman are premier players. For the record, they better have a plan in place to make Guentzel the head-coach-in-waiting because that dude is as much a reason for Gopher hockey success as anyone else. Lock him up!

Holl should sit and Marshall should move to forward. That would get the best talent on the ice for every game!

Whether you're sitting that night or on the ice- everyone on a club like this one is a contributor! Just win the Frozen Four... Go Gophers!
