I 'love' how scientists therorize this and that, and it is always quoted as though it is absolute -- never that it is a hypothesis. After enough time goes by, it changes to something else, or is replaced with a new theory. The part left unsaid is that it is just an educated guess, that we are still learning how much we don't know. What bothers me is that the layman cherrypicks what they wish, accept it as 'fact' (as though it is their own original research), and use it to bludgeon everyone else into accepting it also. Scientists should insist that these are observations, perhaps unproven ideas, but instead they succumb to the flattery of being recognized and quoted. The hump was this, the hump was that... extinction caused by Man and climate change. Crype, they are estimating 10,000-20,000-30,000 years ago, which leaves a whole lot of wiggle room for error. How embarrassing.
