That is our money that is supposed to go for our health care. Instead this "for profit" outfit is buying resources in Brazil. Sounds like a Bain kind of deal.

tikiowl – Your money? It’s UHC’s money. This purchase will be good news for a lot of people right here in Minnesota & the US. Every time UHC buys another company, my company gets to sell them more networking equipment, which means job security for me. The sales guy who sells it will get a nice commission that will let him buy another new Chevy truck (mostly made in the US), probably another new Ranger bass boat (made in the US). He might even do some upgrades to his cabin (work done by local contractors). See where this is going? Sure, we need to be worried about health care costs but it’s not all doom and gloom when a company invests outside of the US. After all, it’s a “Global Economy” now.

I just got laid off from there. They have more money now that they are laying off a few thousand people.

After all, it’s a “Global Economy” now. - Nope, it's many sovergin economies interacting on a global plane. Regulations in Brazil are far different than in the US. Two different economies.

Another example of why insurance is not health care. Don't be so gullible america.
