The man guiding the "Vote No" forces keeps his staffers and volunteers pumped up, and pulls in the cash, too.

Minnesotans are lucky to have such energetic and visionary leaders heading the fight against this hurtful amendment. They have charted a course of collaboration and conversation that calls us to be the best we can be as a state. Minnesota is better than this amendment. Together we can stand on the side of love with our gay friends and neighbors, same sex parents lovingly raising children, business owners, people of faith, veterans, students, professionals, and hard-working volunteers, and Minnesotans state-wide to vote NO in NOvember.

The anti marriage group does not realize that have already lost...no matter what the outcome of the election. Society has already redefined marriage. Churches and ministers are holding same sex weddings and people refer to gay partners as husbands or wives. The war has been lost no matter what the outcome of this battle.

A vote for this amendment is a vote for more government in the private lives of citizens.

Convicted child molesters can marry while still in prison....but instead it is tax-paying, positive contributors to society that conservatives go after just because they are gay. It is shameful. It is wrong....and shows how out of whack their priorities are.

I'm a straight person who's worked for two decades for equal human and civil rights for our gay citizens. I am on your side! In 30 states, it is legal for a person to be fired or evicted simply because he is gay -- or even merely suspected of being gay. Sexual orientation shouldn't be a measure by which we dole out civil rights to tax paying citizens. Good luck!!!

This article paints Mr. Carlbom as a noble crusader. A similar article about Frank Schubert (published 8/5) paints Mr. Schubert as a hired gun. Whatsupwitdat???

"The anti marriage group does not realize that have already lost...no matter what the outcome of the election."...........I hope I live 5 more years so I can stand in front of these bigots and say, "I told you so."

I didn't know this ammendment actually would affect citizens of this state; supporters always say it is simply about defining marriage. Does it place a percentage on those affected, like they will be counted as 37% of a real citizen? They don't have to pay taxes do they? This makes it a very tough decision for voters. What to do with the power to define another citizen's life. Maybe people will turn to the bible for guidance.

"Minnesota voters support marriage as the union of a man and a woman.... It will be a steep climb to convince Minnesota voters to become the first to endorse redefining marriage." Um, what? I am a Minnesota voter and I support equality for all Minnesotans - in all respects. I don't even need convincing. I understand equality and I'll vote for that all day long. I'm not gay. I'm voting no. And I'm dancing in the streets when there's a big win. Reminds me - remember that one time when Minnesota voters had a big party after electing a former wrestler as governor? Wasn't that a first?

Isn't it funny how the people who complain about government intrusion in our lives are the ones who want the government to intrude into our lives the most? I'm voting NO on this travesty and I'd be willing to bet that a majority of Minnesotans will as well!
