Tom Waters was an knowledgeable, enthusiastic and literate advocate for conservation. His book "The Streams and Rivers of Minnesota" is a classic--an absolute wealth of information, written by a man who loved the look and sound and meaning of moving water.

He was a great mentor and role model for many students and professionals in aquatic sciences and related fields. We need more like him.
