"I didn't learn that when I was home schooled" I've never heard that before.

My first reaction was to wonder if a reporter contacted his mother/home-school-teacher to ask why she never bothered to teach him that stealing was wrong. Then it occurred to me that perhaps his parents cheat and cut corners frequently, and he's just following their example.

dahutys, that is really tacky to make such an insinuation. Ignorance can be corrected but slander such as your comment is much more foul and insidious.

"Rustad said he had spent little time in traditional schools, and that in home school he hadn't learned much about plagiarism." Wow, and THIS guy is helping run a school. He's only 22, so it's never too late to get an education, even for a school board member. You can't make this stuff up.

Wow. He was home-schooled, he plagiarized, therefore homeschooling is the problem...now which logical fallacy does that fall under?! Please people. He did a bad thing - something many, many others have done. It's not the fault of home schooling.

"Students in her journalism classes were shocked and outraged." --- Disappointed to see these students being outraged about this. People get far too upset, too quickly.

He is 22 years old and home schooled, yet he is on the board of a public school - something he never attended? He is making policy with this background? Who elected him???
