'zactly. It's not the same old landscape "the fans" think it is. But they're always late to the party. Get within 50 feet of Jim Pohlad at a Twins' game and you can sense desperation.

Waiting to see what happens at the "country club" during this offseason. Some solid roster moves Willingham, Doumit, Burton are examples from this season. This winter should be starting pitching, middle infield, and the coaching staff. I have faith that although some decisions may be "painful" changes, Terry Ryan will do what's best for the organization.

Patrick, I don't have access to verify the numbers you have put out here, but if you are correct, the Pohlads are dumber than I thought they were. I still believe they are making lots of money running this team as a losing franchise and will continue to run it that way until the stands are empty.

It may be time for new ownership if possible that is totally committed to baseball and high quality year in and out. Baseball is harder to measure in a few years but after several, there is little doubt a major change and strong leadership is needed. Look at how new owners in Milwaukee finally have things on uptick there. I'd try to get Kelly back in some major capacity if they do not sell.

You are comparing 80 s numbers to today. The increased attendance should be close to makin up the difference.

So, Patrick was called in by the Pohlads and fed these numbers in order to make the case for them and/or cover their behinds? That's sure how it looks.

The coaching staff needs to be changed, if for no other reason than a fresh approach. Joe Mauer had the second best year of his career and this team still lost 96 tames. He needs to be traded for front-line starting pitching and a second baseman. This isn't that difficult, if you just get away from this absurd "family" thing. Span and Mauer must go this off-season in the name of pitching. Gardy and staff need to go elsewhere. It's not difficult. It really isn't.

Dear bobo72: For the 1,000th time, the Twins can't simply trade Mauer. He has a full no-trade for six more years. And even if he were to approve a deal, the Twins would have to pay a hunk of the remaining $138 million on that contract, and still not get anywhere near value in return, with a trading partner.

They got their stadium. It's like people getting off welfare and having to pay their own way, but these people are billionaires who shouldn't have to complain because they are rich, and putting a poor product on the field, by the way. The taxpayers are footing a big bill for the likes of Butera, Casilla, and Jamie whats his name. Reminds me of the old movie "Major League", without the moving of the team because they do receive alot of money in return. No excuse for their loss of money with all they are receiving from the state an fans.
