Fining for flopping? Not a good idea. A better idea would be to stop giving those calls to the Floppers in the league. When they flop and fall over, just ignore them. Let them roll around on the ground. In fact, if a player has a reputation for flopping, don't give them the benefit of the doubt. Punish them by not giving them the call. Your welcome America!

IMO, the way for the refs to make better calls is to hire former players (e.g., college players) who really know the game. Joey Crawford and most of the rest of the officials don't really understand the game and are not able to see what's really happening in real time and make the correct calls when it comes to charges, flopping, and other plays. It's almost like they've made up their minds before the play finishes to make a certain call or they follow the play through to its end in order to make a better call. I'm not saying former players will be perfect, but it just makes sense to me that those who have played the game and truly understand it could do a better job of officiating this very fast sport, especially given how the game has evolved from the slower days of old.

I like Roy more and more each time they interview him! What a classy, down-to-earth guy. I hope things go well for him going forward!
